Volunteers for Inter-American Development Assistance (VIDA) was founded in 1991 in response to a cholera epidemic in Peru. VIDA sends medical supplies to people in need in Latin America, and aids the development of programs that focus on preventing injury and illness. VIDA also helps to motivate other organizations, and works to help them to set and achieve their goals.
